After a successful pilot scheme back in March 2023, we are now offering one-to-one appointments with fundraising professionals, for musicians who need support with funding applications and grant writing. Although funding applications for postgraduate or project funding are a fact of life for many musicians, those at the start of their careers often feel unprepared and apprehensive about completing them.

Young Classical Artists Trust Funding Advice MentoringThis is where we step in!

Thanks to the generosity of arts fundraisers from across the industry, the initial run of this 21st Century Musician initiative helped 10 musicians to hone their applications for submission. Our partnership with Young Arts Fundraisers (YAF) means that we can continue to offer appointments with fundraisers representing organisations such as:

Create (Arts) Limited

Wiltshire Music Centre

Royal Albert Hall

Arts Council England

Babbasa

Institute of Contemporary Arts

Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama

Goodenough College

Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment

The National Arts Fundraising School

Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd

.

So if you are looking for fundraising support, or know someone who is, don’t just take our word for it, here’s what our musicians had to say…

“Absolutely brilliant!! Very helpful and my funder was lovely”

“It really humanised the process to speak to someone who had experienced both sides.... (writing and adjuducating)"

“I am feeling very encouraged"

Best of all, there’s no deadline for applications, so musicians can make use of this scheme whenever is most convenient. Complete our application form today if you'd like 30 minutes of free advice on your funding application, and we'll match you with a suitable advisor.
