The rising stars who have successfully secured their place on the Young Classical Artists Trust’s (YCAT) roster are: 

YCAT Artist Charlotte Spruit at the 2023 Final AuditionsAlongside a plethora of performing opportunities in the UK and internationally — these extraordinary musicians will also have the privilege of making their debut performances at the world's most prestigious venues. 

Additionally, YCAT will provide professional publicity materials and digital support to enhance their online presence, ensuring maximum exposure for their exceptional talents to cement their path to becoming full-time performing musicians. 

The esteemed jury responsible for selecting these exceptional talents comprised prominent figures in the classical music industry. Alongside Chief Executive and Artistic Director of YCAT, Alasdair Tait, these include: Angela Dixon, Chief Executive of Saffron Hall; Stephen McHolm, Director of the Verbier Academy; Roger Wright, Chief Executive of Britten Pears Arts; Tanya Bannister, President of Concert Artists Guild, NY; Rachel van-Walsum, Director and co-founder of Maestro Arts.

YCAT Artist Will Duerden at the 2023 Final AuditionsUnlike traditional competitions that pit musicians against each other, the YCAT International Auditions set a standard of excellence and foster an environment where each artist's exceptional talent can shine. There are no rankings, and any number of winners from various instruments and vocal categories can be selected. 

Their unanimous decision to select all six finalists is testament to the exceptional calibre of these chosen artists and the belief that they will immensely benefit from YCAT's unwavering support.

Reflecting on the remarkable pool of applicants, Alasdair Tait emphasised the extraordinary talent, potential, and distinctive personalities of the selected artists. Tait highlighted the urgent need for support and advice for these young musicians, particularly in the face of ongoing struggles for advocacy within classical music and the challenges of building sustainable careers in the early stages.

Hana Chang and Atenea QuartetWith the addition of these six extraordinary musicians, YCAT continues its legacy of supporting and cultivating the brightest stars of the classical music world. 

The evening also saw the announcement of the next YCAT-Music Masters Robey Artist - Cellist, Sterling Elliott - further cementing YCAT’s collaboration with Music Masters and their commitment to celebrate and champion underrepresented voices in the industry. 

In addition, YCAT is delighted to announce the continuation of its unique partnership with Concert Artists Guild in the USA. This collaboration, established in 2019, will now include the sharing of further selected artists for representation. The announcement of these exceptional joint artists will be made on 8th June.
