We are delighted to announce that Ariel Lanyi won 3rd Prize (The Roslyn Lyons Bronze Medal) at the Leeds International Piano Competition on Saturday 18 September, following a performance of Brahms Concerto No.2 with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Andrew Manze at Leeds Town Hall.  All the rounds were broadcast live by medici.tv:

In June Ariel was a prize winner in the inaugural Young Classical Artists Trust (London) and Concert Artists Guild (New York) International Auditions.  He went on to make his debut at Wigmore Hall and participated in the Marlboro Music Festival in Vermont, alongside renowned artists such as Mitsuko Uchida and Jonathan Biss.

Born in Jerusalem in 1997, this summer Ariel completed his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Ian Fountain, having previously studied with the late Hamish Milne.
