We are delighted to announce twelve finalists for a special one-year cooperation. Chosen from a very competitive field of over 100 outstanding applicants, the twelve international finalists will receive a unique package of advice and career support over the upcoming year.

Due to the health crisis, YCAT's live Public Final Auditions were unable to take place at the Wigmore Hall on 29th May 2020. To provide continuity and reward the twelve 2020 finalists, YCAT forged a unique solution. Over the next year we will provide help and advice, crucially enabling the finalists to benefit from YCAT's reach and profile within the industry. This will include an individual ‘Introducing the 2020 Finalists’ week on YCAT’s social and digital media platforms.

The twelve selected finalists are: Andrei Gologan (piano), Anouchka Hack (cello), Ariel Lanyi (piano), Barbican Quartet (string quartet), Dominik Wagner (double bass), Erica Piccotti (cello), Irène Duval (violin), Kunal Lahiry (piano), Mateusz Kowalski (guitar), Mithras Trio (piano trio), Quatuor Agate (string quartet), Ryan Drucker (piano)

Alasdair Tait (Chief Executive & Artistic Director) comments: “I am thrilled that we are able to offer this unique solution for 12 inspiring young artists, helping them navigate a course through the uncertain year ahead. They all have so much to offer already and we look forward to introducing them to our wider audience in the coming months.”

YCAT 2020 Finalists will also have the opportunity to enter directly into the YCAT 2021 live semi-final auditions without the need to reapply.
