When is the deadline for the 2024 Auditions?

The closing date for applications will be 11:59pm on Friday, 1st March 2024. Please sign up to our newsletter to be notified when applications open.

What dates do I need to be available for?

Candidates must be available for the following dates:

Semi-final auditions in Kronberg (8th April 2024) or in London (11th April 2024). Selected candidates will then need to be available on the morning following their audition for a short in person interview.
The live finals on the 16th May at Wigmore Hall in London.
Winners may then be required on the day following the live final auditions (17th May), though this is not obligatory.

How much does it cost to apply for YCAT?

There is an administrative fee of £50, inclusive of VAT. You will be directed to pay this at the end of the application form. NB your application is only fully complete once payment and a confirmation email has been received.

Are there age limits for YCAT applicants?

When will I hear back about my application?

All applicants will receive a confirmation email upon submitting their application. We will notify all applicants of their result (both successful and unsuccessful) by 15th March 2024.

2022 Auditions now open!

As of Wednesday 12th January, applications for the 2022 YCAT Auditions are open. The deadline for applications and video submissions is Wednesday 9 March 2022 at 12.00pm.
2021 Auditions now open!

As of Friday 15th January, applications for the 2021 YCAT Auditions are open. The deadline for applications and video submissions is Thursday 25 March 2021 at 5.00pm.

Charlotte Saluste-Bridoux

Charlotte was a prize-winner at the 2021 YCAT International Auditions, in partnership with Concert Artists Guild (New York). In 2022, Champs Hill Records released her debut album of solo violin music. Ariel Lanyi

In 2023, Ariel was honored to receive the Prix Serdang, a Swiss prize awarded by the distinguished Austrian pianist Rudolf Buchbinder. He was also nominated as a Rising Star Artist by Classic FM in the same year. Prior to this Ariel won 3rd Prize at the 2021 Leeds International Piano Competition, performing Brahms Concerto No. 2 with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Andrew Manze in the Finals.

Nominated as a 2022 Rising Star Artist by Classic FM, Armand was a prizewinner at the YCAT 2021 International Auditions.
