Eight finalists have been selected to appear in the prestigious public finals to be held at Wigmore Hall on Friday May 21st.
They were chosen from a rigorous audition process which saw a record number of 120 applicants reduced down to 21 exceptional performances in the semi finals at end of March.
The finalists are:
Sankorfa Percussion Quartet
Mengyang Pan / piano
Rafal Luc / accordion
Kathryn Rudge / mezzo-soprano
Ksenija Sidorova / accordion
James Baillieu / piano (chamber/accompaniment)
Rhodes Piano Trio
Huw Morgan / trumpet
Each performer will give a 25 minute programme, listened to by a distinguished jury of respected music industry figures including Sir Brian McMaster (chairman of YCAT), Robert Rattray (Chief Executive, Askonas Holt), Heather Duncan (Head of Concerts and Programming, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra) and Jonathan Reekie (Chief Executive, Aldeburgh Music).
