Described by Gramophone Magazine as ‘one of the finest young string quartets’, the Doric String Quartet is rapidly developing their international profile. In 2008 they won 1st prize in the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan, 2nd prize at the Premio Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition in Italy and the Ensemble Prize at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany.
Selected by Young Concert Artists Trust (YCAT) in 2008, the Heath Quartet won 1st Prize and the Audience Prize at the 2008 Tromp International Competition in Eindhoven and 2nd Prize at the 2009 Haydn International Competition in Vienna along with Special Prizes for the best interpretation of a work by Haydn and of a commissioned composition. The Quartet went on to give recitals throughout the Netherlands, including their Concertgebouw debut.
In 2008 the Navarra Quartet won the Outstanding Young Artist Award at the MIDEM Classique Awards in Cannes. They were selected for representation by Young Concert Artists Trust in 2006 and in 2007 received a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship culminating in a highly acclaimed disc of Haydn's 7 Last Words.

Moving on artists
Sacconi Quartet
Formed in 2001 at the Royal College of Music, the Sacconi Quartet bring energetic, creative music making to audiences throughout the UK and abroad. Over the last year they have hosted the second Sacconi Chamber Music Festival in Folkestone, undertaken a curatorship at King‘s Place, returned to Wigmore Hall and worked with theatre director Tom Morris and Acoustic Triangle, the renowned classical jazz trio. They have released two CDs on the Sacconi Records label and given the world premiere of Robin Holloway’s second quartet.
The Quartet has given recitals throughout Europe, including Vienna, Madrid, Barcelona, Brussels, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and in almost every major town and many villages in Great Britain.
In 2006 the Quartet won 2nd Prize at the London International String Quartet Competition and in 2005 1st Prize in the Trondheim Competition. They also won the Kurtag Prize at the Bordeaux Competition and 1st Prize in the Royal Over-Seas League competition.
